Question about ASUS ZenScreen MB16ACE

My understanding is that this monitor can be used with a Macbook pro 2020 via usb-c without software. However, it requires the DisplayWidget software to automatically adjust the display orientation. This software only exists for Windows. Does this mean that the monitor can only be used with a Macbook in horizontal orientation or can this also be set manually on the monitor?

You can set vertical alignment in macOS. System Preferences > Monitors.
