I have connected my Mac Mini with USB-C. I also have the impression that the picture is better than with HDMI. But of course the Mac Mini gets its power from the 230V socket. I could probably charge the MacBook on the second USB-C port, but I haven't tested it. In any case, the specifications say that this is possible.

My setup:
- Business notebook on DP
- Mac Mini on USB-C
- 1 USB keyboard for PC and Mac that is controlled via the USB switch on the screen.
- Mouse is unfortunately separate, as I use a TrackPad on the Mac, which is unusable in Win10.
