Is this dock compatible with DisplayLink? I would have to operate two monitors via this dock on my Macbook with M1 chip...

Hello Anonymous,
with Apple M1/M2 only 2 monitors are possible at the moment, i.e. apart from the MacBook's own display only one (and not two) external monitor is active.
Kind regards

Among the StarTech adapters, there is also a model that should enable 4K.

Hello Anonymous
I use three external screens on the M1 Air with this dock. A TV is connected to the display port via an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter. Two USB ports each have a "StarTech USB 3.0 to HDMI video adapter" (for a touch display and an old HDMI screen) which are DisplayLink software compatible.
My tests and research have shown that it is important to connect monitors 3&4 (even just monitor3) via USB. Then the Air does not notice that it should not accept them from the system. The operation is very stable, also works in clamshell mode.
I hope that helps. Write me if it works.
Kind regards
Matthias
