According to the Asus support page, the CPU "Core i7-9700K (3.6GHz, 95W, L3:12M, 8C, rev.R0)" is supported from BIOS version 1005. Thus, I am a little more cautious and say that it depends on the BIOS version with which the board is delivered / adopted. According to Asus, "my" CPU "Core I9-9900K (3.6GHz, 95W, L3:16M, 8C, rev.R0)" is also supported from the same BIOS version. I don't remember which BIOS version was installed when I bought the device in February 2019 - in any case, the CPU was supported right from the start.
