Question about Apple Studio Display Standard

Is it possible to connect an Ethernet cable (with Ethernet to USB-C adapter) to the display and the Macbook then has Gigabit Ethernet when it is connected to the display via Thunderbolt? That would be super practical, then you don't have to plug and unplug the Ethernet cable every time you leave your workplace with your laptop... just the charging cable.

That's possible. Think of it like the extra ports on your display are an extension of the ports on your Mac. That's what Apple's specs say: "Three downstream USB-C ports (up to 10Gb/s) for connecting peripherals, storage, and networking".

Interesting. You don't seem to be the only one with this problem: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads...

It seems to depend on the adapter, as the Anker 2.5 Gbps works.
