Is a battery included, or do all the accessories have to be bought separately? Will the batteries from the Hero 5 Black fit?

A battery is included with the camera, so there is no need to buy additional accessories.

The battery of the GoPro 5 is identical in construction, so it can also be used in the GoPro8. However, the camera gives an "error message" that you should insert a battery for the GoPro8 in order to be able to use the full performance.
