Question about Phanteks RGB LED Strip Combo Set
I'm confused by the two connections on the LED strip. One goes to the LED control of the housing and the other to the MaBo? Is it mandatory to connect the strip to the MaBo?

No, it doesn't have to, that would be optional if you want to control the LEDs via the mainboard.
With the second connector on the LED strip, you can connect several of them together.
However, a Phanteks enclosure with a compatible controller is a prerequisite.
