If I have an MSI motherboard and a beQuiet! case, both with RGB already integrated, can I connect and expand these strips to one of them without having to drive a third component?

It depends on whether and how many ports the mainboard has for the LEDs. Basically, you can connect the LEDs there or extend them and/or connect them in series.
