I would like to buy this product. Are there any restrictions or anything else that needs to be considered when connecting to a MacBook Air (an M1 2020 from the company and a Core i5 2020 at home)? Both Air have Retina 2560x1600.

that's not a problem at all, I also have an Apple MacBook and even 2 Studio's connected, note that with each one separately with a thunderbolt 4, bandwidth. Thunderbolt 4 ports have a bidirectional bandwidth of 40 Gbps (gigabits per second). This means that data can be quickly moved to and from external data storage, and that connecting up to five Thunderbolt devices allows for flexible device configurations - all through one port.
