WD Red is very good regarding "...as quiet as possible ....", also suitable for desktop, disadvantage 5400rpm.

WD Red is a hard disk with TLER (Time limited error recovery). This hard disk is designed for NAS and Raid in which redundancy is present. If this hard drive encounters a bad sector, it will stop trying to read the data after a short time and return the sector as bad, while a desktop hard drive will continue to try to recover the data.
This drive is NOT intended for desktop use!
