I would basically think about who told you about the 2km and where this source comes from... I think 700m is very likely... which is already a lot.

The 2km are certainly out of the Quickguide.
Try aligning the antennas vertically, then you will have a greater range. Depending on what you want, the horizontal or vertical alignment of the antennas is (more) suitable.
