We've had the printer for a while (and don't turn it off that much). However, it is not particularly (or outlandishly) loud when switched on.

If you take off all the transport locks, there is only the adjustment noise.
This rattles for what feels like an eternity.

I am very satisfied with this printer. It prints beautifully and the switch-on noise does not bother me in the least. I assume that it is the power-on adjustment that causes this noise.
