I know that this printer prints double-sided. Does it also scan documents double-sided in one pass? (Output as a file e.g. pdf)

You mean, can the printer scan a double-sided (back and front) paper in a single pass? No, it cannot. If the front and back sides of a paper are to be scanned and transferred to a single file, you cannot avoid copying the back or front side first so that you can scan two sides.
