Question about OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual

I have bought an OWCMED3ER0GB for eSATA and installed 2 HDs that I want to operate via eSATA in independent mode. Only one of the two HDs is recognised via eSATA. Under USB both are recognised correctly. Can SATA(eSATA) transfer data from more than one hard disc via a SATA link? Is there a switch so that it is at least possible to switch between the HDs? Or can the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual be connected directly to the mainboard with a second eSATA<->SATA cable (there are special crimped eSTA-SATA cables)? This way the case is not "dual" for eSATA, but only "single bay". OWC should state this clearly. I read the manual before I bought it. There is nothing in it!

According to OWC's specifications, the housing supports "port multiplier" - which is necessary because eSata is otherwise only a point-to-point connection (as in a PC with Sata). However, your eSata port/eSata card must also support this, which is not always the case. Check your port :)
