I have an older TV which only has HDMi ARC not EARC ( https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/samsung-qe65q9fn-65-4k-lcd-2018-television-8086839?tagIds=538 ) Will the SONOS Arc work well or will it be limited because of the TV's specifications such as time lag and Dolby Atmos etc. Any advice appreciated.

I have a 2016 LG tv with ARC (no eARC). Dolby Atmos etc. work just fine. Might be that you won’t get 7.1 though, can’t remember. I have a Soros 5.0 setup (no sub… yet) and it”s great for Dolby 5.1, 2.0 and Atmos. Will be even better when I get the sub.

You'll need EARC for proper 7.1 Dolby Atmos. Some apps (e.g. Netflix) may play 5.1 Dolby Atmos, but via Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3). I do have the same issue with my Q90R Samsung TV from 2019. The Sonos Arc, however, is still an insanely good device and I absolutely love it for it premium sound quality, design and Sonos integration.
