I have an LG OLED with a stand (not wall-mounted) and cannot place the ARC in front of the TV - so my question is: Can the ARC be placed behind the TV?

Yes, but it doesn't sound good when the sound is blocked by the TV. Is there any way to mount it above the TV?

not a good idea, because the sound is blocked by the TV.
I also have an LG and have placed a wooden plate under the TV base.
