Question about HP G5 Essential
I have a normal computer at home. Now I have a laptop from the shop. We all have such docking stations in the shop. I now want to connect all the components, screens, keyboard, mouse etc. at home to the docking station so that I can either connect the computer to everything or the business laptop. However, when I connect the Dokingstation to the PC, nothing works at all. Can anyone help me?
To use it this way, you need a KVM switch. This is where the mouse, keyboard etc. are connected. The KVM switch is connected to the PC and the docking station via USB. Now you can assign the keyboard to either the PC or the laptop or docking station via the KVM switch at the touch of a button. Depending on what you use.
Small addendum. The monitor(s) should have two video outputs. Preferably 1x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort. Otherwise you have to reconnect them every time.
