I have 2 WD Red Pro installed in my NAS. Both make scratching noises. When I activate the test function in the NAS, it sounds like a drill. Is that normal?

That doesn't sound normal to me, no.
A spinning noise is normal. Not a scraping noise!

they do the same for me, they are a bit louder than my old ones ...I assume that has something to do with resonance
