I would use all the same /4X16 GB memory. depends on your mainboard in any case, otherwise there will be problems with XMP settings

That's just what peterxibin mentioned, in theory using 2 x dual shouldn't cause any problems, however I've had quite a few problems with Dual and XMP-7200 frequencies, in 3600 it should work fine. 
1. Start by checking with your motherboard manufacturer what the maximum amount of RAM your system can support is.
2. Once you have done this, update the motherboard Bios. The documentation will tell you which ones to use, often it's 2-6, 1-3, but you should check. 
3. If you use the XMP profile, check that you have the same Ras#, Cas#, Ras to Cas, etc... if this is not the case, you should set the speeds to the least advantageous, i.e. 2 x 8/3200.

Check how much RAM your system is already using and that should tell you how much you need. 2x16 plus 2x8 is sufficient for most systems. After that, it's just a question of cost. My own system has 4x16 because when I built it I had the money and didn't want to worry about RAM.
