I bought this dock: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/targus-dock310euz-usb-c-dockingstation-usb-hub-14071246 so I can switch my Mac and Windows client without any problems. Unfortunately, I had to install DisplayLink Manager to make it work - unfortunately this does not work on my Windows device (business) because I do not have permissions and IT does not allow it.
Does this dock require any additional software?

I use this dock for a Business PC laptop in a very restrictive corporate IT environment. It did not require any software installation.  The standard USB-C dock our organisation uses is a different brand, and a friend of mine has used my dock to connect _his_ Business laptop, from a different company.  So you're probably ok...
