Question about Creative Sound Blaster X4

I bought the SBX4 to connect my computer to my Sonos Ray and two Sonos One speakers. Unfortunately, I now have two major problems: 1. in the settings in the Creative app under Playback, if I select the configuration "5.1 Surround", I can then control the individual speakers and hear the correct sound from each one. However, this only works in the app. As soon as I open another app (e.g. Spotify, YouTube, game) and listen to music/sounds, none of them come from the Sonos One at the back. 2. every time I restart the PC, I have to go back into the Creative app under "Playback" and set 5.1 Surround again, because each time the setting falls back to "Stereo". This will be a problem when the first problem is fixed. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

1: This is because music is stereo. Spotify cannot mix to multichannel (e.g. must be done in the amplifier itself). But if you watch films with multichannel sound tracks, for example, then it works (assuming a correctly configured media player).

2: Set the Windows sound settings to 5.1 (google how to do this). Then everything should work.
