I am running my Intel NUC June Canyon NUC7CJYH2 (4 GB, Kingston DDR4-2400 and Samsung 860 EVO Basic 250GB, 2.5") with Ubuntu 20.04. Unfortunately, the reader does not recognise or read SD cards (Visual BIOS Version: JYGLKCPX.86A.0053.2019.1015.1510, UEFI Boot, OS Selection: Linux, Devices and Peripherals: SD Card: Enabled Read/Write). Intel offers a Realtek* Card Reader Driver for Intel® NUC for download, but only for Windows 10, but I don't have Windows 10 for the NUC and run it exclusively with Linux. Has anyone had the same problem and could offer help? Thank you very much for the support!
A patch (under Bugzilla - Bug 204003) that solves the problem has been announced in the meantime. The Linux kernel 5.8.0.32 apparently already contains this patch and forms the basis for Ubuntu 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla), which I have now installed. With this, the reader integrated in the NUC7CJYH now recognises SD cards. Reading and writing runs without any problems.
