Basic information: In the audio sector, practically only three-pin XLR connectors (XLR3) are used. Four-pin plugs are used in the video and intercom sector and occasionally in wireless microphone systems with transmitters. Five-pin plugs are an exception; they are rarely used in the professional audio sector for *symmetrical stereo connections* with a single cable and are otherwise the standard for professional stage lighting technology (DMX).

The question of which mini XLR plugs are used for headphones is therefore superfluous from the outset. They are always miniXLR3 plugs. Without exception. And the headphone cables are always compatible, regardless of the brand. So you can combine the cables with the headphones in any way you like. So you can plug the Beyerdynamic cable into any other headphones that also have a miniXLR connection and it will work.
