In normal operation (for me: office/internet/photos), you don't hear the fan at all. Only in special situations, e.g. during a major Windows 10 upgrade, can you hear the fan, but then it is quite loud (volume comparable to deep breathing in/out). After the upgrade, it is pleasantly silent again. I cannot judge whether the fan would become louder at some point during CPU-intensive work (video editing, gaming, etc.).
