How can I connect this as a 2nd monitor to my laptop? > is this recognised by the graphics card? Adapter / double plug for connection to my laptop HP Pavilion dv6?

Yes, that works. I have seen that the Pavilion DV6 has an HDMI port.

Simply connect the laptop to the monitor via the HDMI cable and get started.
With the key combination " (Windows key) + P " you can choose whether the picture should be displayed individually, mirrored or expanded.
