Hi Georg. The JBL Charge 3 can be operated directly with the supplied charging cable (USB Micro) and power adapter (should then also charge in parallel if you don't turn up the volume fully). However, I haven't tried it yet when the battery is completely empty. I have 2 of them because of the pairing option (one player and 2 speakers - works great and delivers very good sound quality); one of them hasn't been in use for a while now - just switched on and the battery is still full.

Hi georg. The box comes with a USB cable and power adapter. You can therefore operate the box via cable.
I always charge the box at the weekend, the battery lasts at least 10 hours, I would even guess much more... you don't have any problems with the battery. I would buy the box again, perfect for the construction site.
