Hello, When I wanted to test this lens on my EOS 7 mark II body, I realised that they were not compatible. Which body is best suited? Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to afford both a new lens and a new body. Thank you in advance for your reply. "Only" lenses with the EF/EF-S bayonet can be used with the Canon EOS 7 Mark II. For example, you can use the Canon EOS R7 with RF and RF-S bayonet to use this lens.

You need to take a body with an RF mount or a lens with an EF mount.
EOS R7 (already older), for example, would fit.
Or you can use the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM. This is also excellent, fits the EF mount of the 7DII, but is only 400mm. On an APS cam, however, this corresponds to an image section of 640mm (crop factor 1.6), which is quite a lot.

By the way, the R6 II is currently on sale at Digitec. With 24 Mpx, it would be a perfect match for the lens.
