Hello. Can I connect my external hard disk with films on it to the box and play them? I do NOT need a computer/laptop in between? That means the MiBox recognises an external HDD?

Helpful answer

I use an external 3.5" HDD (WD Elements, USB 3.0) with NTFS file system on the MI Box S and it works perfectly. This is my main purpose.

depends somewhat on the HDD used and its formatting, but should basically work as long as the HDD gets enough power via a single USB port.
