Hello, I ordered this compact system. After connecting my old record player to AUX, I found that this does not work (no sound, or not audible at full volume). Question: Do I need a record player with preamplifier for this system (connection to AUX)?

A record player produces a signal that is 100 times lower than an Aux/RCA signal. No wonder you hear nothing. Phono preamp is necessary. Or you can buy a system with this in it, then simply not for 250.

When connecting the TV to the AUX connection, I had the same problem (weak sound). Adjusting the AUX input level (HIGH) did not help. It works better at the Audio IN connection. But if your record player has a magnetic pickup, you will of course need - as always - a preamplifier to match the pickup.
