I use the scanner for slides and negatives, colour and black and white. The software supplied is not much good. With Silverfast the results are very good, but it costs extra. A photo that has been scanned, processed and printed on photo paper looks much better than the prints you got 20 years ago.

Yes, I have been scanning mainly b/w negatives and also slides for a long time. I use Silverfast 8.8 as my software. I am very satisfied with the results.
