Question about Rollei C5i

Hello dear digitec community, My wife bought this tripod for me a short time ago, and I was really excited when it arrived. unfortunately, there were no instructions or any kind of description, and the tripod was only packed in the carrier bag, with no plastic around it, which I thought was strange. after 5 minutes of use, opening it up, etc., a grub screw which is attached to the bottom of the head fell out. It all seems a bit strange to me, I have the feeling that the tripod has already been used and simply packed back into the box. Has anyone had the same experience? I am really thinking about sending it back.

Hello David
I have the same tripod, also from digitec. Mine was packed in a cardboard box and the carrying bag, with no plastic or other packing material. However, there were two stickers attached to the box that you had to cut through to open the box. There were no instructions or description.
About the grub screw: I don't have a grub screw on the head itself, but on the plate on the tripod where the head is screwed on. When you tighten it, it presses on the head from below and fixes it so that it can't come loose by itself. I have never tightened this screw before and the head has always been tight. However, on my tripod, a blue threadlocker (or something similar) has been applied to this grub screw so that it cannot loosen by itself.

instructions and so on could be in a bag, in the pocket. It would be helpful to know which screw fell out and if you were able to put it back in. With Rollei's entry-level line, they might not use a cardboard box as packaging to save on costs, but if you have any doubts, go to digitec and talk it over with an employee.

I have never had such experiences at Digitec. But I did once at another retailer. It was also a tripod.
