Hello Bought this cable to connect my USB hub under the desk to my laptop. When I plug the hub directly into the laptop everything works, when I use the cable the hub is not recognised (error when requesting a device description). What is the reason for this?

Unfortunately, USB is becoming increasingly confusing in terms of standards. It's best to google "USB 3.2 comes with confusing designations". The data transfer standards (speed) are one thing, the possible charging capacities are another: Here you have to pay attention to the USB-PD standard so that you can also transfer power up to 100W. Googling: "USB-PD - USB Power Delivery". Frankly, I don't really know which extension cable allows both a high transmission capacity for various hub outputs (USB, HDMI, DP, etc.) and a high charging capacity at the same time. I have attached all sorts of things to my Angelbird multiport: mouse, keyboard, headphones, webcam, HDMI screen and also the 45W laptop charger, and it works tiptop. However, the USB-C cable to the laptop, which is permanently attached to the hub, is far too short at only 10 cm, and I haven't yet found a suitable extension cable that meets the USB 3.2 and DP specifications.

I'll keep looking...

Your question has been unanswered for a while now. In the meantime, have you found a suitable solution or perhaps even contacted the manufacturer?
