Question about Sony Wh-Ch700n
Hello all, I am trying to connect the headphones (Sony WH-CH700N) via Bluetooth to my PC (Windows 10 Pro). They are recognised and connected, but as "another device" and not as headphones. Windows 10 does not output sound via an "additional device", the headphones remain mute. Connection with Android mobile phone and tablet works, another Bluetooth headset could be connected and used with the PC without any problems. "Factory reset" on the headphones did nothing, nor did reinstalling all Bluetooth drivers on the PC. Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, build 19042.746. Bluetooth dongle from TP-Link, BT version 4.0. According to the "Sony Headphone App", the firmware of the headphones is up to date. Does anyone know the problem and the solution? Thank you in advance for your support.

The headphones transmit via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and BT (Bluetooth). I have the headphones once as audio device WH-CH700N and once as other devices as LE_WH-CH700N. This means that you should definitely connect to the WH-CH700N when pairing.
Can you give the exact name of the USB dongle? It is possible that your dongle only supports BLE and not BT.

Field report: I had problems with a USB Bluetooth dongle (probably not from TP-Link) on a laptop without built-in Bluetooth. I tried many things (also with/without LE), but it didn't run really stable, frequent re-pairing helped, but somehow it fell back again a few days later. Fortunately, there were once new laptops in the office with native Bluetooth. Since then, no more problems.
This means that the problem is most likely due to the dongle. If possible, try other dongles or a dongle firmware update (if possible).
