I can confirm this: I bought the motherboard on 20.12.2020 and could not get my Ryzen 5 5600X up and running. And beware: Neither digitec nor ASUS offers support here.

So if you don't have an old Ryzen lying around at home (as was unfortunately the case with me), you have a big problem because you can't even boot into the BIOS. Therefore, be sure to order a motherboard that supports the CPU with certainty or at least supports BIOS flashback, so that you can make a BIOS update directly from the USB stick without booting.

In the end, I was helped directly by AMD: They sent me an old Ryzen CPU with which I could update the BIOS. They even covered all the postage costs, which is a great service considering that AMD is not even to blame.

However, in my opinion, the effort is not worth it if you know about the problem in advance: AMD requires all receipts and proof that the dealer and ASUS support were also asked for help without success. In addition, of course, all receipts. All the service requests alone take a good week. Then wait until the bootkit CPU arrives, install the bootkit CPU, carry out the BIOS update, remove the bootkit CPU again and install your own CPU, send the bootkit CPU back to AMD.

So if you are using a 4th generation Ryzen CPU, save your nerves and energy and order a motherboard that supports the CPU safely or at least supports BIOS Flashback.

I can fully confirm Shijin's experience.

Digitec was unfortunately not very helpful, but Asus support correctly referred me to the AMD bootkit offer on the phone, where I was then helped.

If I had had all the information from the beginning, I would have preferred to pay 50 more for a mobo with BIOS Flashback. The bureaucratic effort is a bit exhausting, and the waiting time is of course annoying.

I bought the motherboard about a month ago and there was no update for Gen 4 or 5 on it.
