I bought this docking station and it works great with my 2 monitors. However, my laptop Envy does not charge at the same time. What is the reason for this? The docking station should also charge the laptop at the same time, right?

Hello,
It depends on what kind of laptop you have. The charging and DisplayPort function in one only works with a Thunderbolt port, older USB-C ports can't do that. 
So either you have an older USB-C (no Thunderbolt!) port or you have to install additional drivers for the Thunderbolt on the manufacturer's website.
