Hello. On my own, yes (I had it that way at the beginning).
But for syncing I am not sure. I have 4 different bose that run in sync with wifi and with the app. Theoretically it should work, but it didn't work for me when I tested it (1.5 years ago), so I switched to wifi. Maybe it's just a setting thing.
