Can the device also play music from my mobile phone (e.g. Spotify) or is this Bluetooth for other BT speakers...?

Exactly as Joerg_bruns writes. You can connect the unit to a hi-fi system with an appropriate cable. Connecting it directly to the speakers is not possible.
