does the ssd fit for windows 7 and 10? the procedure is as follows: first install the software on the laptop, connect the ssd with the adapter, start the software and clone the hd to the ssd. when hd is completely cloned, ssd can be removed, shut down system, switch off laptop and remove hd, install ssd and boot laptop?

You have described the procedure correctly. It may be possible to start the software directly from the CD without installation, but I'm not quite sure. However, I have only done this with colleagues who did not want to re-install their system. I have always reinstalled myself when changing from HD to SSD (Windows 10).
Cloning works with the set.
