Does the display on this monitor also work with laptops that do not have a Thunderbolt connection, but "only" a USB-C port with DisplayPort ALT mode? My employer's laptop has a Thunderbolt port, but I would also like to use it with my private laptop.

Hello Fabio,
I have the monitor for around a month now and is working fine for my needs.

You are only able to get the monitoring function through the Thunderbolt/USB-C port. This is working fine for me. Quite stable.

However, there is a DisplayPort and an HDMI port as well. Meaning, you have 3 channels for monitoring.

I am using the Thunderbolt port with my private Mac Mini and the DisplayPort for my Windows work laptop.

The usb hub function for mouse/keyboard is however only available through the Thunderbolt port.

For my DisplayPort Laptop, I also have to connect with a second cable to the USB-B port and access the usb hub function.

Then I flip between the two computers through the monitor buttons. I am quite pleased up to now.

I hope this helps.

Hello Fabio
I have sent the monitor back. I have a Thunderbolt connection on my laptop, but it was defective on the monitor after a short time.
Thunderbolt is great, but it seems to me that Samsung has not yet worked it out.
On the other hand, USB-C on the monitor works perfectly with the Thunderbolt connection on the laptop.
