I use the USB-C dongle on the MAC and in parallel the Bluetooth connection with the smartphone.
You can also connect the headset directly to the laptop via BT. The dongle is additional/optional.

Yes, it comes with a Bluetooth USB-C dongle that is used to connect the headset with a computer. Although, I would recommend to get the headest with a USB-A dongle since if you have a notebook that has one USB-C port, this port would be better usable for e.g. video out. Do not try to connect the headst directly to a notebook bluetooth chip, the headset needs this provided USB Bluetooth dongle for best signal communication.
