First place the device in the charging station, then pair it with either the router or the Dect Station according to the instructions. Works quickly and without problems with the Swisscom Internetbox 2 router.

I use the E560 HX as a second phone together with the Gigaset E560 (as a DECT base station).
A base station (be it a cable router with DECT, or a landline DECT base station) is always needed. The Gigaset E560 HX does not work alone.

The registration function depends on the router used; the corresponding operating instructions are usually supplied and can also be downloaded from the Internet. The router must have an integrated DECT station. Press the + key on the Swisscom router and then start the login mode in the E560hx (all this within 60s).
