Question about Sony Bdp-S6700
Can you simply connect this player to a simple screen, e.g. a Philips 276E8VJSB/00 or something similar, and watch the films that way? Or do you need a TV? What else is needed? Speakers, of course. Anything else? I have no experience like this....

I have just connected the player to my monitor via HDMI cable. It works. However, as my monitor has no speakers, I can't answer the question about the sound. But the picture is there.

the player has the following connections:
1 HDMI® output (rear), 1 coaxial audio output (rear), 1 USB input (front), 1 Ethernet port (rear).

I have connected the player to a full HD monitor via HDMI. The monitor has a speaker output (jack plug), which I can use to connect speakers/headphones. Maybe search the Internet for the operating instructions, because the device also has other options that I don't use (Bluetooth, digital out connection). Unfortunately, I don't have mine available at the moment.
