The lens has an RF mount and the EOS 800D has an EF mount. It seems to me that there is no adapter in that sense. So I'd say it's not compatible.

No, that is not possible. The lens has an RF mount for the mirrorless Canon EOS R cameras. The EOS 800D is an SLR camera and only lenses with an EF mount will fit on it.
