Can the alarm function also play a CD or only radio?

Yes. According to the operating instructions on page 31, the alarm clock can be set for buzzer, digital radio , FM, CD or USB.
The alarm function can also play a CD. Works perfectly.
When setting the alarm function or alarm time, the source can be selected, i.e. also the audio CD
I don't use the alarm function, but a look at the operating instructions will certainly answer the question.
