Can I use it as a backup for my Macbook Air (macOS High Sierra 10.13)? What does "Mac OS X version, must be reformatted" mean in the data storage properties? Thank you very much.

Yes, that is possible. The hard disk is pre-formatted for Windows. To use the product on MacOS X, it must first be reformatted (either as exFAT or Mac OS Extended) so that you can use it. Instructions: https://praxistipps.focus.de/mac-extern...
