Can 3.5 inch hard drives also be placed behind the motherboard, i.e. in the same place as the SSDs? And is the HDD cage modular?
No, the 3.5" hard drives cannot be placed in the same place as the SSD, they have their own holders. Only the SSD holders are modular.
