Am I to understand that this board is the same as the MSI B450-A PRO, except for the fact that it supports the new Ryzen 3rd Gen out of the box?

Exactly, they have now been rebuilt for the new Ryzen 3000. They also have two M.2 ports. But I don't think there is a USB C either, not 100% sure. Whether the 3rd gen now goes out of the box, I'll leave that up to myself. I haven't tested it, but it should. Wait until someone has installed it and gives feedback. I'm also curious. ;)
