Kali Audio presents a brand new speaker system: the IN-UNF. It is based on the technology of the successful IN-5 and IN-8 studio monitors and is an ultra-nearfield solution for producers and users who want to work and listen professionally in desktop environments. UNF stands for Ultra-Nearfield – the IN-UNF has been designed for use in small rooms that, due to room acoustics or neighbor tolerance, only allow for a quieter listening environment.
The IN-UNF offers a full-range audio spectrum with reference levels and optimal headroom at about 0.8 meters – roughly an arm's length from the system. The IN-UNF system consists of three main components: a bass unit and two satellites. The bass unit houses two 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers, the amplifier, and the electronic components of the system. Since the two woofers are positioned horizontally opposite each other, no resonances are transmitted to the desk or to objects placed on the bass unit.
The satellite speakers use the same coaxial midrange and tweeter as the speakers in the IN series. The entire system is designed for desktop use and provides the same low-distortion listening experience as a pair of IN-8 speakers at a normal listening distance. Thanks to flexible placement options, the IN-UNF system can be easily integrated into the existing desktop landscape – the bass box can be placed vertically behind a laptop or monitor, or used horizontally as a monitor riser for a screen.
On the back of the bass unit, there are various inputs to meet all user requirements. Through the USB-C port, which supports a resolution of 24-bit and a sample rate of 48k, computers, smartphones, and tablets can be connected.
