The sticks are produced by a special woodworking technique, which protects the wood and shines the fibers, making them more durable in important places. Wincent speaks from the heart of every drummer when the weak points of a wooden stick are openly mentioned: The well-shaped and pleasant-sounding top dissolves into nothing or even becomes a skin killer due to sharp burrs, the conically shaped neck is planed off by the crash cymbals and frays, and the rimshot area resembles a target breaking point with sharp splinters after a short time. To keep the crest permanently intact, Wincent does not cut or saw it, because this can leave edges and cracks in the surface of the wood, but instead, gently grinds it down to its shape with a stone. To prevent notches and thus increase overall durability, a special wax is applied that gives the wood a kind of sealant and is intended to keep the surface closed and smooth. The wax, in combination with optimized humidity, is hard enough in the wood for heavy playing, but flexible enough to withstand rim and cymbal hits. The range of models offered is extensive. Special woods like many other manufacturers, Wincent also offers the standard 7A, 5A, and 5B as XLs with the same diameter but more length, the 5B even as XXL for that extra punch and reach. The 55 Fusion and 55 XL versions are also successful, closing the gap between the 5A and 5B and their XL versions. The 7A XL, which is very short as a normal stick, is very playable, and although it is a light stick, it is a fully-fledged and universal stick.
