The MC112CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber optic to 10/100Base-TX copper media and vice versa. Utilizing WDM technology, the MC112CS uses only one fiber optic cable to transmit and receive data, saving on cabling costs. The MC112CS is compliant with IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards and is compatible with single-fiber optic cables that use the SC-type connector. It supports long-wavelength (LX) laser specifications with full wire-speed forwarding, operating at 1310 nm for data transmission and 1550 nm for data reception. Therefore, the cooperating device should operate at 1550 nm for data transmission and 1310 nm for data reception. The TP-Link MC111CS is an example of a compatible media converter. It features Auto MDI/MDI-X for the TX port and automatic negotiation of duplex mode on the TX port. The MC112CS can transmit over extended fiber optic distances with single-fiber optic up to 20 kilometers.
